I am now 26! My sweet 15 year old sis-in-law Barb wanted to take me out. I got the kids dressed up in the their adorable Halloween outfits from Grammy Dallof and we headed into the nearest 'big' town, Sierra Vista. We spent the day there and Barb paid for everything, including gas. She bought me a few misc. things, but mostly we just enjoyed our time together...thanks sis! Then Grandma watched the kids so Roy and I could go to dinner. We went to The Depot in Tombstone, which is one of our favorite places. Burger for me and steak for Roy of course!
I came home to my favorite cake...homemade German Chocolate from my mom-in-law...and enjoyed it quite thoroughly! Thanks to all who called, emailed and sent cards...it was a great birthday!!
Roy's brother Charles returned from serving a successful 2 year mission in Portugal on October 17th! He had traveled about 20 hours with not much sleep the night before and no sleep on any of his flights. He was quite exhausted but still stayed up late to visit with the family and gave a fabulous talk in church on Sunday. The whole family did a musical number...Lord, I Would Follow Thee...and we did quite well considering we only had 2 days to practice it with everyone. We've really enjoyed having him home.
Waiting with much anticipation! Of course, Mom gets the first hug. 11 Visiting with family after the 'homecoming' talk in church. The WHOLE Jones family
Baby Roy turned one on October 1st. We just had a little family party at Grandma Flory's. I made a cake to let him dive into. I didn't have any hesitations on having him destroy it because it didn't end up looking all that pretty. He's not as precocious as Morgan...it took us a long time to coax her to dive into her first birthday cake...so we thought it wouldn't take him long to dig his hands into it. We did end up having to do about as much coaxing as we did with Morgan, probably just because everyone's attention was on him. In the end he had a great time tearing it apart!
We splurged and got this adorable little horse for him because he LOVES climbing on things. It also wires up to the tv and has several interactive games for the kids to play. We haven't connected it to the tv yet, but both Morgan and Roy enjoyed just climbing on it, just like we thought they would. The kids also got some cute Halloween attire from Grammy Dallof which we look forward to using! Happy Birthday to our Roy Boy!
Morgan and Roy are healthy and happy. Both kids still have lots of spots that need to heal (hopefully with minimal scarring), but the actual sickness is over and we are so thankful!
We can now play outside without worrying about the heat causing more itching. The kids love going outside...which makes me so grateful that we now have a yard with grass. They both love our dog Cinder so much. They can sit on her, pull her tail, grab her mouth, and basically do anything else and she just sits there and lets them. We hope they stay good friends as they grow up!
Morgan is very tender hearted. We have to be very careful with the way we say things! But this also means she is very sensitive to others needs. She is always making sure her brothers are happy and taken care of. She's an awesome helper to mom. She amazes us daily with the things she says and does!
Roy Boy
Can we say, 'All boy?!' If there is something around that's possible to get on top of, he will be on top of it. Then he'll be jumping off of it! I've never met a more mischievous boy. Yet under that, he is so irrestably adorable! He has really started talking a ton over the past few months and speaks in full sentences!
Dallin
What a fun personality Dallin has. He loves to cover his face when he first wakes up in the morning, knowing it will prompt a game of "Where's the baby?!" from us. He doesn't say much but he is always signing. We don't always know what he's signing, but it's adorable. He loves playing with his big brother and sister. He can let out an ear piercing scream when he wants something. He's a very sweet boy, but also very mischievous!
Madison
Just learning how to walk and already into everything! She's very curious and very mischievous. We're going to need to keep our eye on her!
Morgan and Roy
Best friends!!
Roy and I
I grew up in Utah and Roy grew up in Arizona. We met online while he lived in New Orleans and I lived in New Jersey. We have been married for 7 years. We started our lives together in New Orleans. We loved it there, but a plane crash in '04 forced us to leave. It took us eventually to where we are now, Benson, Arizona, where we plan on staying because we love it so much. We have 4 children---Morgan, Roy, Dallin and Madison.
Morgan and Barb were just playing around and started shouting at each other. Morgan just randomly said, "I'm going to take you to the shopping store and I'm going to leave you there! And you don't get any surprises!"
We were in a car accident where we started fishtailing off the freeway into the median. After the car stopped Morgan said very calmly, "I don't want to do that again."
I asked Roy if he wished he had diamonds on his wedding ring. He said no and immediately Morgan said, "Yes you DO!"
We were getting ready to go to bed and suddenly Morgan says in a whiny voice, "Mommy, I have to eat!" I asked her why she needed to eat and she said, "Because I'm so cranky!"
While she was stroking my hair she said, "Your hair is lovely, you're beautiful!" (quoting Enchanted)
To her baby brother, "Come here, I want to tell you something."
I asked her if I could have the headband she was holding. She said, "Sorry, you can't have it."
I was getting her dressed for the day and pointed to a shirt in her drawer. She said, "I don't want it, it's gross!"
Once at church I picked a booger from Morgan's nose and as I was thinking of where to put it she said, "That's mine!" She scraped it from my finger and put it back into her nose.
I have a habit of putting pens in my mouth. Once she saw me doing it and reprimanded me, "Don't put pen in mouth. It's too dirty!"
Once papa was eating an otter pop, which Morgan loves. He was going to share with her but she wanted to hold it by herself. I told her I'd get her her own and she said, "That's wonderful!"
I was writing some stuff down for my YW lesson. Morgan picked up the paper, looked at it and said, "Good picture mama!"
